The Portals
The Britleys Difference at The Portals

Purposeful Enrichment with Room to Grow
The Portals offers thoughtfully designed enrichment experiences that support confidence, character, and meaningful social development. Programs are intentionally structured to complement children’s learning beyond the classroom while honoring their individual pace and interests.
Throughout the year, The Portals also offers select seasonal experiences, including summer and school‐break programs, designed with the same calm, purposeful approach that defines all The Britleys' offerings.

Thoughtfully Curated Programs
Each Portals program is curated to encourage growth through engagement, reflection, and guided practice. Rather than focusing solely on outcomes, experiences are designed to build skills that matter—confidence, respectful communication, emotional awareness, and creative exploration.

Confidence, Character, & Social Awareness
A defining aspect of The Portals is its emphasis on character and social confidence. Children are gently guided to express themselves with clarity, listen with respect, and engage thoughtfully with peers and adults.

Small‐Group Experiences by Design
Programs at The Portals are intentionally kept small to allow for meaningful relationships, personalized guidance, and a nurturing learning environment. This approach supports deeper engagement and helps children feel seen, supported, and confident.

Designed for Modern Families
The Portals is created with flexibility in mind. Enrichment sessions and seasonal programs are designed to fit alongside school schedules and family life, offering meaningful experiences without overextension.

Rooted in The Britleys Philosophy
While The Portals differs in format from our full‐day Montessori program, it is grounded in the same Britleys philosophy, intentional design, respectful guidance, and a commitment to whole‐child development.
What our Parents are saying
"Words can’t describe how appreciative I am of the Britleys. We moved from LA to DC and our daughter began to attend the Britleys at 1 year old. She is now 2 years old and sings songs and counts in Spanish and Mandarin. They frequently visit museums and have a wonderful curriculum! She has built great friendships and loves her teachers. We are so grateful for the impacts on her cognitive, social, and emotional development! Thank you to all the amazing teachers at the Britleys!!"
-Sarah J.
"The Britleys is a wonderful first 'school' experience for toddlers and parents. My daughter started just over a year of age as one of the youngest kids and really blossomed under the loving care of Gloria and her staff of teachers. They plan engaging activities and lessons and obviously really care about your kids, which is a huge relief for parents. They have great hours and are very good at giving each child what they need."
-Tayla
"I cannot say enough good things about the Britleys! Gloria and her staff are amazing with our son! We moved from Atlanta and they made the whole process seamless. Our son has flourished in their care. I trust everyone at the school completely with my son everyday! My son is excited every morning to go to school!"
