Summer Program Course Curriculum

Picasso & Language Loft Club (Ages 2.5-5 and 6-10)

In this thoughtfully designed summer club, creativity and language come together to inspire young minds.

Children explore the world of visual storytelling through engaging art studies and hands-on projects, from classical brushwork and color theory to imaginative mixed media, while simultaneously nurturing a love of language through reading, phonics, early writing, and storytelling circles. As they illustrate their ideas and give voice to their creations, children naturally strengthen observation, patience, and creative expression while building essential literacy skills such as sight words, sentence construction, and narrative thinking. The experience invites children to see, imagine, and communicate their ideas with confidence, cultivating both artistic expression and joyful language development in a warm and inspiring environment.

Petite Étiquette & Culinary Passport Club (Ages 2.5-5)

In this delightful summer experience, young children are gently introduced to the art of grace, kindness, and global discovery through a unique blend of etiquette and culinary exploration.

Each session invites children into charming role-play, storytelling, miniature tea rituals, and hands-on cooking experiences inspired by cultures around the world. As they prepare simple, child-friendly recipes, children naturally practice courteous communication, posture, patience, and presence while learning foundational skills such as measuring, sequencing, and sensory appreciation. The experience nurtures independence, confidence, collaboration, and cultural curiosity, creating a warm and joyful environment where poise and kindness blossom naturally.

The Polished Child: Culinary Passport Experience (Ages 6-10)

In this enriching summer club, children embark on a delightful global culinary journey while cultivating the timeless art of poise, confidence, and gracious conduct.

Through carefully curated, child-friendly recipes inspired by cultures around the world, students learn essential culinary skills such as measurement, sequencing, and sensory appreciation, while naturally practicing culinary etiquette and thoughtful table manners. Each session blends hands-on cooking with engaging lessons in kindness, emotional intelligence, and respectful communication, helping children develop patience, independence, and collaboration. Guided by knowledgeable educators, participants gain the confidence to navigate social situations with grace while deepening their cultural awareness, creating a meaningful experience where character, curiosity, and quiet confidence flourish together.

Outdoor / Earth Explorers (Ages 2.5-5 and 6-10)

Where the natural world becomes the classroom.

Our connection to nature is instinctive and vital. In Outdoor / Earth Explorers, the city becomes an extension of our classroom—guiding children beyond school walls into Washington, DC’s natural and cultural spaces, from the U.S. Botanic Garden and the National Mall to museums and cultural galleries. Through garden walks, guided exploration, and place-based learning, children observe, question, and connect with the world around them. Each experience awakens curiosity, nurtures wonder, and fosters a lasting sense of care for nature, community, and global stewardship.

Newton & Einstein Lab (Ages 2.5-5 and 6-10)

Where curiosity meets patterns, and discovery becomes understanding.

In this thoughtfully curated MATH and STEM experience, children explore the interconnected worlds of science, engineering, and mathematics through inquiry-driven, hands-on learning. From natural forces and motion to patterns, problem-solving, and early invention, each concept is introduced through beautifully designed materials and purposeful exploration. With gentle guidance, abstract ideas become tangible, allowing young minds to engage with complexity through curiosity, creativity, and meaningful discovery—where wonder, logic, and imagination exist in perfect harmony.

Meditation & Dance Studio (Ages 2.5-5 and 6-10)

In this thoughtfully curated summer experience, children nurture both mind and body through a harmonious blend of neuroscience-inspired learning and expressive movement.

The NeuroBloom Lab introduces young learners to the foundations of brain health, mindfulness, and emotional balance through activities that encourage calm attention, reflection, and creative thinking. Paired with Haley’s Global Dance Studio, children explore the language of the body through gentle, expressive movement, cultural rhythms, and improvisational dance inspired by traditions from around the world. Together, these experiences cultivate focus, resilience, confidence, and joyful self-expression, helping children discover how movement, mindfulness, and curiosity work together to strengthen both the brain and the spirit in a warm, inspiring environment.

Exploring Brain Health Through Mindfulness and Meditation (Ages 2.5-5 and 6-10)

The program offers a thoughtfully designed enrichment experience centered on brain health, mindfulness, and gentle practice of meditation.

Through calm, engaging activities, children are introduced to simple breathing techniques, mindful movement, quiet reflection, and guided meditation that help strengthen focus, emotional balance, and inner calm. Rooted in age-appropriate neuroscience concepts and nature-inspired learning, the program helps young learners understand how rest, stillness, and intentional attention support a healthy and growing brain. As children explore these practices in a joyful and supportive environment, they develop resilience, self-awareness, and the ability to pause, reflect, and navigate their world with greater calm and confidence.

What our Parents are saying

"Words can’t describe how appreciative I am of the Britleys. We moved from LA to DC and our daughter began to attend the Britleys at 1 year old. She is now 2 years old and sings songs and counts in Spanish and Mandarin. They frequently visit museums and have a wonderful curriculum! She has built great friendships and loves her teachers. We are so grateful for the impacts on her cognitive, social, and emotional development! Thank you to all the amazing teachers at the Britleys!!"

-Sarah J.

"The Britleys is a wonderful first 'school' experience for toddlers and parents. My daughter started just over a year of age as one of the youngest kids and really blossomed under the loving care of Gloria and her staff of teachers. They plan engaging activities and lessons and obviously really care about your kids, which is a huge relief for parents. They have great hours and are very good at giving each child what they need."

-Tayla

"I cannot say enough good things about the Britleys! Gloria and her staff are amazing with our son! We moved from Atlanta and they made the whole process seamless. Our son has flourished in their care. I trust everyone at the school completely with my son everyday! My son is excited every morning to go to school!"
